Replacing Phylion XH370 (EBG370) smart BMS for Altec:

The Phylion XH370 with smart BMS for Altec belongs to an outdated generation (out of production since late 2022). With the updated version from Phylion, the Joycube EBG360 smart BMS, an original Phylion successor is available within the Wall-E-S series from model year 2026. This updated generation replaces the older XH370 and EBG370 batteries and has been improved on several technical points.

What’s new about the EBG360?

  • Cylindrical battery cells – more stable, durable, and lighter than the old prismatic cells of the XH370 & EBG370.
  • 36 Volt / 13.5 Ah (474Wh) – slightly less capacity, but more efficient due to improved cell and BMS design.
  • Improved smart BMS – more energy-efficient and improved protection = beneficial for lifespan.
  • Robust, fully waterproof housing – better resistant to rain and daily use.
  • Lighter weight – more ease of use.

With 36.5V, 13.0Ah, and 474Wh and smart BMS, this battery offers a stable and durable solution for various Vogue models, including those with a mid-drive motor.

The smart BMS of the Vogue Phylion/Joycube bike battery is unique to this type of battery. The bike’s software is usually specifically tuned to this smart BMS. Therefore, no alternative batteries are available for original batteries with this system.

No. The Phylion XH370 has not been produced since late 2022, and neither has the smart BMS version. The XH370 series was succeeded in the interim by the nearly identical EBG370 and, as of the 2026 model year, by the completely redesigned EBG360. XH370 batteries currently offered are from older stock.

A newly produced battery offers more certainty regarding current condition, capacity, and lifespan. With old or surplus stock, there is a real chance that the battery’s quality has already declined due to long-term storage.

The official successor produced by Phylion is the EBG360 with smart BMS (Joycube EBG360). This succeeds both the XH370 and the later EBG370 within this model series. (From 2025, Phylion uses the brand name Joycube for all its bike batteries.)

Yes. The EBG360 is a new generation with modern cylindrical cells, an improved BMS, and a waterproof housing (the old XH370/EBG370 was splash-proof). As a result, this battery is lighter, more stable, and more durable than the older XH370 generation.

No, Phylion’s smart BMS (UART type) is exclusive to this battery. Because the bike’s software is tuned to this specific smart BMS system, you can only use a Phylion battery with this type of smart BMS.

Always check the type on your current battery, the shape of the housing, and whether your bike works with standard BMS or Smart BMS. View the step-by-step plan here.

The EBG360 is a relatively new generation of battery. RAP Webshop has worked directly with Phylion since 2010 and is one of Phylion’s larger after-sales customers in Europe. This allows us to deliver directly with the latest generation and we do not work with old stock. Other after-sales providers who do not buy directly often only get this latest generation in their range later.

This Phylion battery has the popular Wall-E-S shape with an integrated rear light. The battery should not be confused with other Phylion XH370 batteries, including older models and, for example, the RC1701 type used by brands such as Popal, Rivel, Mobion, and De Ruyter. Therefore, always check carefully whether the shape of this battery matches the battery to be replaced.

This battery is equipped with a smart BMS (Battery Management System), usually a requirement for models equipped with a mid-drive motor. A battery with smart BMS always works, even on bikes not prepared for smart BMS. The reverse is not the case; a bike prepared for smart BMS will not work (properly) with a battery with a standard BMS.

This makes the smart battery compatible with the following models, among others:

  • Onyx
  • Sapphire
  • Kratos
  • Silvain
  • Cullinan
  • Jade
  • Diamond
  • Sakura
  • Sirius
  • Valencia

Tips for longer battery life

  • Regular charging and discharging keeps the battery in good condition.
  • Store in a cool and dry place.
  • Charge an empty battery immediately to prevent deep discharge.
