Privacy policy personal data

We can imagine that you would like to know why we need data in some cases and what we use it for. We are happy to explain it to you.

When you visit our website, you leave personal data with us. Personal data is any data that can be traced back to you as an individual, such as your name or email address that you leave when you fill out a contact form on our website or your surfing behaviour on our website. We can imagine that you would like to know why we need this data and what we use it for. We are happy to explain it to you. If you have any questions after reading this, please let us know by contacting our customer service or by sending us an email to RAPinfo@traprap.nl

How RAP protects your data
We protect the personal data you leave with us using various techniques. In addition, we ensure that within RAP only the people who need your data can see it. This way we ensure that people who have nothing to do with your data cannot access it. If we provide your data to someone else – you can read below why and when we do this – we require that the other party handles your data as carefully as we do and uses it only for the purpose for which they received it. If you feel that this is not happening, please let us know via our customer service or RAPinfo@traprap.nl

What data does RAP use from you and why?
We use your data for various purposes. We explain these goals below. We use the data we receive from you, but also the data we collect ourselves. For example, data about your visit to our website.

Register your RAP
Once you’ve purchased a RAP e-bike, you can register it on our website. This will register your RAP for the standard two-year warranty and allow us to easily provide you with service in the future. We store this information in our service database.

We need this information so that our service department can quickly help you with any problems or questions. Based on the information you provide, they can quickly determine which e-bike model it is, so they can offer you a suitable solution more quickly. This also applies if you buy the bicycle from a dealer. The information you provide us with for this purpose is your name, preferred salutation, email address, address, telephone number, the frame and battery number of your RAP, where you purchased the RAP and on what date.

We are happy to provide you with the best service. That is why we store your data as long as you have a RAP and are therefore a customer of ours. If we have not had contact with you for ten years, we will delete your personal data. In addition, you can contact us at any time to have it removed sooner.

Service Request Form
If an unexpected problem arises that you need our assistance with, you can contact our service department using the service request form. When completing this form, we ask for various personal data, including the invoice and/or frame number of your bicycle or part, the invoice date of purchase of the product, and of course a description of your problem.

Just like when you register your bicycle, we also store the data from the service request form in our service database. This means that our service department has all the information quickly at hand to provide you with the best service. We store your data for as long as you are a customer with us. If we have not had contact with you for ten years, we will delete your personal data. In addition, you can contact us at any time to have it removed sooner.

Who is your data shared with?

Delivery services
When you register your RAP or complete the service request form, we store this information to provide you with the service. If you have a problem in the future that we can easily help you with by sending you an item, such as an extra manual or a new filter, we will share your address details with our distribution partners, such as PostNL, so that the package arrives to you.

Business customers and dealers
We also store contact information for our business customers and partners. If the data concerns individuals, we will treat this data in the same way as that of our other customers.

Other parties
When we require the assistance of other parties for other purposes, these parties sometimes require personal data. We only share this data when it is necessary to achieve the stated purpose. We never sell your data, and we ensure that the third parties we share it with handle it as carefully as we do.

The government
We may sometimes need to share personal data with the government. This may occur when government services, such as the Tax Authorities, need the data to carry out their duties. The police or judiciary may also require certain information in the event of fraud or abuse. Finally, it may happen that certain supervisors are given access to personal data in the context of investigations.

Your saved data
We store your personal data. You also have the right to receive an explanation of what personal data we have and what we do with it, to see exactly what personal data we store, to change your personal data if it is no longer correct, to have your personal data deleted and to withdraw your consent for, for example, the newsletter or the placing of cookies. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, for example, to change your personal data because it is incorrect, please feel free to contact us at info@traprap.nl. You can also contact us with other questions. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, which will always be within two weeks.

Of course, we want to be sure that it is you when you ask us to change, view or delete your personal data. To be certain of this, we may ask you to send a copy of your ID. Make sure that you black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the ID), document number and personal identification number in this copy. We do not need this information. We will immediately delete the copy after we have responded to your request.

Do you disagree with the way we handle your data? We would like to resolve this together with you, please contact our customer service. However, you also have the option to file a complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
